Client: Collectius
Line of business: Debt Collection

Reshaping Debt Collection in Asia.

Collectius was founded on the principle that “doing good is good for business”, and partnered with Bakheda Co to further define their strategy and bring it to life with a visual rebranding. Through a series of workshops, the focus on helping people in debt became a competitive advantage, as it makes the company the prefered choice to banks auctioning non-performing loan portfolios. The visual identity brings their purpose of “providing new financial beginnings” to life, and the belief that “everyone deserves a second chance to grow with the economy”.

To homogenize Collectius’ communication, we have developed a set of graphic tools that consist of a relatable color palette and an extensive typographic system.

Nothing is as loving as something big protecting something small in an embrace and that’s the role the brand wants to play in the world. We wanted to show that the brand ventures out of its predefined scope to financially empower people to get back on track. The logo’s “C” represents an embrace and the identity pairs this symbol with the company’s name set in TT Commons.

Debt collection in Asia is a tough industry. Companies bid to buy non-performing loan portfolios from banks, and collect as fast as possible through tough practices. Collectius was founded on the principle that “doing good is good for business”, and sacrifice on short term gains in order to create an environment where people can pay their debts through long-term individual payment plans that are financially sustainable.

More than a facelift

Bakheda’s work for Collectius presents a new variety of case study: a debt collection company that wants to equip every person with the financial knowledge to grow with the economy. Bakheda Co. hosted a series of workshops, where we helped Collectius define their positioning and communication. After the purpose and beliefs resonated, we brought their human-centric story to life through a full visual rebranding, starting with the iconic “Collectius Embrace”.

Building a human-shaped brand

Nothing is as loving as something big protecting something small in an embrace and that’s the role the brand wants to play in the world. Graphic toolkit

To homogenize Collectius’ communication, we have developed a set of graphic tools that consist of a relatable color palette and an extensive typographic system. In addition to this are the custom patterns and animated icon sets.

We retained the usage of green as brand color and expanded it into a monochromatic color palette that emulates growth and harmony to avoid loss of relatability. Secondary elements for Collectius reference Guilloché patterns - the building blocks of the global economy. Keeping print and digital limitations in mind, we use simplified versions of the normally complicated patterns. Considering the diverse applications of typography for the brand, TT Commons, a universal sans serif with minimal stroke contrast and a geometric structure is used. The icons are designed to highlight futuristism. The background and details subtly add to the tech connotation to the brand.

Ensuring compatibility

Collectius is always dealing with data, numbers, and figures. Our work for them is supplemented with a collection of graphs and charts that are compatible with applications like Powerpoint and Slides.

With an updated image bank and a modern feel, the new website is approachable despite being a debt collection company.
